What Is Your Tragic Flaw?

You got: Arrogance

You might realize it, or you might not, but the fact is you think you're better than most. You try harder and you think you deserve more. The good thing is that this flaw comes from a deep-seated belief that you can overcome anything if you set your mind to it. Keep the self-confidence, but work on the excessive pride.

You got: Selfishness

You'd love to be generous and empathetic, but your instincts tell you to look out for yourself alone, and who are you to deny an instinct? You can't help taking a cut for yourself and demanding you get credit for all you do. But here's one way your flaw could help you: When you find a person whose desires you care for more than your own, you can be sure it's love.

You got: Paranoia

It's paranoia that will destroy you. There is real danger in life, and you have most likely tasted it, but that's no reason to hold a continuous defensive stance for the rest of your life. Relax, and try to let go of the notion that everyone is a danger waiting to happen. Some are, but most are not.

You got: Indecision

You think and think and think. You torture yourself with every option, and then you usually get forced into decisions because you waited too long and your choices have faded away. Remember that you are more likely to regret what you haven't done than what you've done. Next time you are given a choice, make it and move on. Regrets are inevitable.

You got: Greed

Something inside you drives you to have more and better of everything. It pains you to see even your friends have a better quality of life than you do. But having the most possessions doesn't necessarily make a person happy. Giving can also do that. Next time you have the urge to take, give instead.

You got: Cowardice

You are afraid—not shaking in your boots, everyday afraid—but you fear that in reality you can never be the impressive person you are in your mind. But why not? Reality is never quite like we imagine it will be. It is always a glorious surprise. So shake away your fear and take some chances, and put yourself out on a limb. Live!

You got: Self-Doubt

Think of the toughest, meanest, least understanding person you've met in your life. Your inner voice is ten times as cruel. The fact that you've managed to accomplish anything despite that bully is a miracle. Do yourself a favor. Next time you start telling yourself there's no point in trying, have a quiet talk with your inner voice, and tell it to buzz off.

You got: Cynicism

When you encounter behavior that is selfless, you start searching for ulterior motives. Experience has shown you that everyone is looking out for number one, and you're not about to be the only fool who isn't. Sometimes you consider the possibility that the world isn't all bad, but fear stops you from believing it. Try living like an optimist for a time. See what happens. You might like it!

You got: Obsession

You have to hold yourself back when you fall in love because you've scared away more than a few love interests. You can't help it. You just want to surround yourself with whatever it is you love at the moment. But obsession with one thing often blinds us from all of the other enjoyments in life. When you feel the cloud of obsession forming, try stepping away for a breath of fresh air.

You got: Impulsiveness

You don't think before you act, or get mad, or even speak. Before the notion has finished forming itself in your brain, you rush to make it real, and every nanosecond that it takes is agony. Good meals take time. Successful careers take years of hard work. The things most worth having require patience. You need to work on your long game. So relax and take it slow for once.
